As you do so consider how they parallel or conflict with the ethical codes and guidelines you examined last week. Consider which laws regulations policies and/or procedures might be difficult to follow and which have the greatest importance to you as a forensic psychology professional within your field experience setting. At times these might conflict with the forensic psychology ethical codes and guidelines. In this case you should attempt to resolve the conflict taking steps such as working with the proper authorities to make a conscious decision of whether to follow the ethical code or the regulation procedure or law that conflicts (Fisher 9). Some field experience settings provide structured training or manuals to follow while do not. As a forensic psychology professional it is your responsibility to ensure you are knowledgeable about the laws regulations policies and/or procedures applicable to your field experience setting as well as the steps to take if they conflict with ethical codes and guidelines. A description of one law regulation policy or procedure applicable to your field experience setting that you would find most challenging or difficult to adhere to and explain why. Field experience activities can range from observing a trial to shadowing a corrections officer in a prison setting. Each experience has unique opportunities that will help you develop your knowledge and skills.
